Mana Whenua: Know Our History

The chnnl January team challenge is live, and it is all centralised around the importance of psychological safety within the workplace with a focus on Mana Whenua, or Indigenous and First Nations Peoples in regards to environment, culture, history and peoples. With New Zealand, Aotearoa celebrating Waitangi Day, which recognises Feburary 6th 1840 when the Te Tiriti o Waitangi (in English, the Treaty of Waitangi), New Zealand’s founding document, was signed in a partnership between Māori and the British Crown. Public Holidays are a great time to reflect, learn and understand more about our collective history, so that misconceptions and myths can be dispelled by understanding historical context and historical accounts from different viewpoints. 

This team challenge is focused on 'Know Our History', as explained in the video below with CEO Morris Pita. Morris is the CEO and founder of Tai Pari Mōhio Ltd, the creator of Emergency Q software. He Co-chairs his hapū Trust in Northland (Whangaroa Ngaiotonga). Previously a board member of ADHB & Waitemata DHB.
